Our bags are packed, I've sobbed all over Meredith because I can't quite bear to think of not seeing her for three and a half weeks - what an incredibly bizarre thing that I've never done!! - and we're heading out the door in another hour or so for Toronto.
The plan for today: Drive up to Pearson, park the car, then get to BillyBishop and wait forever for flight to Montreal at 6:15 p.m. (where I've only been once before, but the stopover isn't long enough to see anything anyway).
At 9:25, the flight for Rome is due to take off from Montreal. We should arrive at 11:30 a.m. local time.
We will be filling the time in the middle of the day with reading up on the trip, going over stuff for the Humanities exam (the only homework we're bringing - but the whole trip is one giant "studying for Humanities" field trip, after all!), and, I hope, napping. I very much hope and intend to sleep on the plane, though I don't really like flying very much, so that we're bright and ready to go when our feet hit the ground in Rome.
We'll be updating, I hope at least briefly, every day. And we're taking lots of notes everywhere we go to try to make sure that what we have to share is interesting.
Love to all,
Addio, Canada!
